How do you put a dragon to bed?
When he won’t stop jumping
Or bouncing, or rearing his head.
How do you put his Jammies on?
When he won’t stop wiggling
Or wriggling, or dancing on the baron.
How do you brush a dragon’s teeth?
When he won’t stop biting,
Or frying, the bristles you might bequeath.
How do you tuck a dragon in?
When he’d rather have a pillow fight
Through the night, with giggles and a grin.
How do you put a dragon to bed?
After each story is read,
As you kiss his sweet head,
“I Love You” he said,
Then to dreamland he fled.
For my son, my fiery little dragon.
